"Into the Legend" ("そして伝説へ・・・", "Soshite Densetsu e...") is the ending theme music for Dragon Quest III. This is one of the most iconic themes of the whole franchise along with "Overture" and "Adventure".

The song was composed by Dragon Quest series composer Koichi Sugiyama. Besides the different arrangements used in the game versions of Dragon Quest III, the song has a vocal version performed by Japanese filmmaker Shoji Kokami.

After the original game, the song was first released in the music video Dragon Quest Fantasia Video. Its first commercial release in an album was in 1988 as part of Symphonic Suite Dragon Quest III with arrangement by Sugiyama and Koichi Nakamura for the Famicom music version and with arrangement by Sugiyama himself for the symphonic version. The song is featured in most Dragon Quest III soundtrack related albums as well as many general Dragon Quest ones.

Unlike Love Song Sagashite, which was released prior to the launch of Dragon Quest II as a promotional effort for that game's release and featured a vocal version of the main menu screen theme, "Only Lonely Boy", the widespread cultural impact that Dragon Quest III had after its release in Japan lead to the creation of a non-promotional vocal version of "Into the Legend".

This vocal version is performed by Shoji Kokami, with lyrics provided by Konosuke Fuji and arranged by Ikuro Fujiwara. This version was released on 21 June 1988 in the single Dragon Quest III: Into the Legend. It has not been re-released since then.
